What is Registered Massage Therapy?

Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body to promote healing and relief. It is one of the therapeutic services we offer to our clients to help relieve them from pain, stress, muscular overuse, and chronic conditions.

Registered Massage Therapy is performed over the whole body, including the muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments, and joints. The purpose of Massage Therapy  is to stimulate blood flow and release tension. This helps to heal both mind and spirit, which are linked to these tensions in the body.

    Philosophy of Massage Therapy

At Back To Health Osteopathy and Wellness Clinic, we believe in a holistic approach to healing the body from the inside out. By this, we mean activating the body’s inherent healing abilities through different techniques, speeding up recovery, and relieving problem areas.

Touch is the primary means to accomplish this, activating the body’s natural restorative processes and resetting areas of tension and blockage.

Our Registered Massage Therapy Services Includes:

Our massage therapy techniques focus on responding to your body’s needs. Our Registered Message Therapists are trained to provide:

    • Pain relief
    • Reduced muscle tension
    • Increased joint mobility
    • Improved lymphatic drainage
    • And to treat many other concerns

Treatment options can help with both acute and chronic conditions. Through our initial rigorous assessment, we can pinpoint the root cause of a client's complaint and recommend the massage treatments that will most actively benefit our clients.

    • Registered Massage Therapy

The foundation of most of our massage therapy treatments, our standard massage incorporates both full body massage and specific treatment of problem areas. We consider both the assessment and client preferences in designing each massage session.

    • Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is a more relaxing massage treatment that combines gentle yet firm kneading with a rhythmic tapping that helps to activate the body’s natural response. This technique soothes aching muscles without applying too much pressure while it also reinvigorates the body.

    • Cupping Massage Therapy

Originating from ancient Chinese Medicine, cupping massage therapy uses the suction from a vacuum seal on glass cups to promote blood flow within the body. The purpose of cupping is to relieve muscle tension by stimulating blood circulation.

    • Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage works in slow, deliberate movements that dig down to the deepest tissues of the body to fully release hard-to-reach tension. This massage can be used to address chronic issues and helps to relieve pain from old injuries.

    • Sports Massage

Sports massages are specially designed to help soothe overstrained muscles from different sports. Different muscles are targeted depending on the sport played, helping with an athlete’s flexibility, preventing injuries, and speeding up recovery time after a sports-related injury.

    • Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient practice performed with comfortable clothing on a floor mat. As the client is guided through different yoga postures, the practitioner is palming and thumbing along the body’s “sen” (energy lines) and pressure points. It’s a more holistic approach to releasing muscle tension through circulating energy in the body, promoting flexibility and easing pain, stress, and more.
